Our Work

The Clean River Advisory Council (C-RAC) is comprised of seventeen local environmental experts and river enthusiasts who are tackling environmental and social challenges collectively.

The Walton Family Foundation (WFF) Environment Program is working to improve water quality in the Mississippi River Basin with the stated priority of centering communities of color and low socioeconomic status as leaders in community-based solutions.

The goal of the council is to bring a unique and inclusive perspective to environmental projects that will enhance water quality, create natural infrastructure and engage the community with the river.

Community Seed Library

In 2025, the C-RAC launched its mobile Community Seed Library. Find us at scheduled local events across the Quad Cities during the months of May through September to grab your seeds and promote native planting.

Seed libraries offer a way to preserve plant varieties, foster gardening knowledge, and build self-reliance within the community.
